can't stay connected

Since a month ago, I log into NetZero, I'm on line, checks name and password then redials!  It always hangs on the redial.  If I plug in my laptop (same outlet) it works like a charm.  Wha happened?

Thanks,

goldspk

Hi!

Thanks for the reply.

I have a Dimension XPS T  (850).  I connect to NetZero, says checking log in name and password, then, you are online.  As I wait for the home page to load the message reads redialing.  That's it!  I use a US Robotics v90, Win2000.

Thanks again!

goldspk,

Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum.

What messages do you get before it redials.  What model computer, what operating system, what modem are you using?

goldspk,

Are you sure you are connected at all, even for a short period of time?

Hi!

Only because it says "you are logged in".  Again, when I use my laptop, it works fine.

Thanks,

goldspk,

I fully understand that your laptop works fine.

What operating system are you using and does NetZero have you use any special software?

Are the laptop and the desktop dialing in to the same NetZero number?

I use NetZero, and sometimes one number goes down for no apparent reason. Switching dial up numbers, while sounding like a canned attempt to help, really does work sometimes.

Here are links for how to switch those numbers.

 NetZero v7.x, click here.

 NetZero v4.x, click here."

good luck....
