Can a Dimension 2350 go wireless?
Hi - my husband wants to set up our older Dell desktop in his "office" area - however, there are no internet phone lines in that part of the house (he works out of the garage). Also, now that we're with AT&T V-Verse, the entire house is on its own wireless network. Currently, the Dell Dimension 2350 that we'd like to hook back up (I use the newer Dell xps420 w/Vista) is running on Windows XP. Can anyone tell me whether or not I can convert the Dimension 2350 to go wireless - or is it just not possible...? Frankly, I don't know how else to do this - even if I found an ethernet cable long enough, I'm not sure that my internet/wireless server will support that anymore....Help??? Thanks!

Before you try things, if you have a wireless laptop, take it to where the computer would be locat6ed and see if the laptop can connect in that location. I have my wireless router located on the second floor of my home, so the signal travels outside better. If the experiment works and you can conect, then if the desktop has any empty slots in the back, you can purchase a wireless adapter or you could purchase a USB Adapter and use it to connect to your network. You would have to use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, I use channel 11, to make connecting everything easier.
