Can connect to wireless but..
I get a great signal from my wireless connection however, I cannot log on to my internet explorer. It gives me the message/error it would give someone if they were not connected to the internet and yet, as I said, Intel pro tells me I have an excellent signal. My computer is a dell latitude 620 with a
Intel® 3945 802.11a/g Dual-Band Mini Card and using a linksys 2.4ghz. Any ideas of things that I could try would be greatly appreciated. My problem lies in the fact that my computer connects to the wireless connection but my internet explorer doesn't seem to think it is so excellent and doesn't recognize a connection. Thanks for any that can help.

What kind of internet connection do you have (cable or dsl)? Has this connection ever worked before? If it is a cable connection, are you changing the device connected to the cable modem without doing a complete reset of the network? As a troubleshooting step, can you connect to the router from the same computer using a wired ethernet connection? Do you have any security features, like MAC address filtering or WEP or WPA encryption enabled on the router? If so, have you tried to pinpoint the problem by temporarily disabling these features?
