helplessinJC,

Did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Can you try running the Finding System Information Tool (preferred)Or hit the Windows Key and the R keys at the same time. Type

systeminfo.txt REMOVE THE PRODUCT ID and post the rest of the information back here.

or an ipconfig /all log and maybe it will reveal something.

When you say install the drivers  does this mean I have to install them manually, after the image restore everything in the device manager seems fine no yellow exclamation points or anything and the computer is even running and starting up faster but there is something prohibiting me from being able to find any wireless network and connect

helplessinJC,

If you recently did a clean installation, then you'll need to install the desktop/notebook system utility and the chipset drivers first or the rest of the drivers will fail to install. If you would have run the items in my post, I could have helped to located them for you.How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

The easiest method is to Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings

All the operating system and drivers install automatically.

PudgyOne,

This is where I am now, originally when I started having problems I tried a system restore and selected a restore point however it failed when the computer came back on after it attempted to go to the restore point I selected It brought up a dialog box that said the system restore failed then I tried to undo it then the undo restore failed. After the system restores failed I did the factory image restore under f8 and that's where I am now, the computer has been restored to the factory setting though I still cant pick up any networks

It may be a setting or something with your adapter that I will recognize when you post the information.

helplessinJC,

Did you recently install the operating system? You mentioned about a power issue. Did you try powering off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) Wait 30 seconds, then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any) Restart your computer and try to connect.

I see the wired connection, which is the Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E

I see you have a Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter but I do not see any drivers listed on Dell's website for this model. I do see the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card Desktops

Which virus program are you using?

PudgyOne,

The operating system Windows Vista has remained the same the power issue I mentioned having was with the computer itself when I went to turn on the desktop the other day there was a solid blue light and no beep after fighting with it for a while it came on normal gave me an error code saying it failed to boot properly then the human interface driver message  which prompted my system resote and initially factory reset.

I saw the wired connection Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E, in the log as well, I'm not actullay sure what this is, I'm not sure if it's the internal wireless device or what have you my home router is a Linksys router the same one I've been using for the connection for a while now.

My virus program was Norton though since the factory reset it was restored to McAfee

helplessinJC,

Not knowing what the person did that restored the system,

I would make copies of files and folders that you cannot afford to lose.

I would then restore tha computer back to Factory. Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings

If you do not have the recovery partition, then the manual method is How To Restore or Reinstall Microsoft® Windows® on a Dell™ Computer Please make sure to install the drivers in the correct order. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

I was the person that did the factory image reset, having all ready backed up anything I couldnt afford to lose particulary media items, pictures, videos and music mostly, anything else I figured can be reistalled since I always keep the cd's and what not that come with various programs. The one and only problem now is with my wireless connection finding a network to connect to.

helplessinJC,

Did you check to see if your card is seated properly? CLICK HERE

Did you install a card? If so, did you install the drivers before attaching the card?

The switch for the internet (the wireless adapter) is F2 on the 1545. You are disconnected or  not configured right, if the reception is dead. You should have someone even if you were out of line. I have switched out half card modems a hundred times. What kinda of wireless router do you have.. I'm assuming you have a N network, not still a "G". You need the wireless adapter to be a N, and set at N. Your modem an N and the router N. Don't set the router to 40 mhz, set it to 20. You will have to do the changes on the screen, no disk. If needed, you will have to log onto the router directly. If it's Linksys...Cisco, the address is 192.168.126.1 and the user name and password are admin, and leave the password blank. If you need a N wireless adapter, you can get them for$15.00 inc shipping on Ebay. If you get the DELL, is fine it is really Broadband. No software. You need to upload Artheros 15.X ver 239. NOT DELL's I will check if you need it. If you have the the  1510-N, forget that driver. If you have the 1397 replace it with the Dell 1515 N wireless adapter, if it will take it.Make sure you remove the driver before installing the Artheros drivers. Hopefully you are all set. Hope you got the webcam going.   Carl

PudgyOne,

I didn't install a card, not sure if I had one however I was able to connect to the internet using a cable from my router since this is not really convenient setup I still want to configure my wireless connection. With the cable connected for internet access everything seems to work fine and I was able to re-install my anti virus protection (Norton) and all my windows updates yet when I remove the cable I cant pick up any wireless signals is there is something I can look for while to connected that would help
