can't connect OE to ISP
I operate a Dimension 4400; been working okay although sluggishly. Recent problem: can't connect outlook express to my isp. Have pinged connections I am able to make and are ok. Modem tests ok. Can reach web sites ok. But cannot connect OE to ISP for e-mails. Any help appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried what you suggested with no success.
In searching around for something that works, I tried Dell Support and clicked on Scan Computor. The scan ran until 98%, then stopped and gave message: could not validate the file gdiagdwc.cai. Have any idea what that means?
Thanks again. Octowrit

Thank you for replying about not being able to connect to isp from oe. I note in your reply to Jim Beck about e mail problem that you do not think Symantec stuff is necessary on new Dell. I have downloaded Symantec and have suspected that as giving me some problems. Am I right about your views.

I note from your reply to Beck about his email problems, that you suggested removing Symantec. I have Symantec stuff downloaded on my Dell 4400 and have suspected problems related to Sym. Do you suggest removing Symantec from all computers.
