Can't Login to certain sites......

Question

i have a problem that i have never seen before. i am running on a wireless router and have had no problems with it from day one.  I am on my network right now actually so there are basically no problems surfing the web.  with one exception.  Since about two days ago i havent been able to log on to various sites.  For instance my hotmail account. (havent been able to use my messenger either). When i try to check my e-mail  i get the page that says, CANNOT FIND SERVER, PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED.  i have tried everything that it tells me to do on that page with zero results. if someone could please help me out i would really appreciate it.  thanks. both require a passport from MS to use. It's most likely that it's a problem on their end and not yours (especially if all other sites are working).

Thats what i thought at first also. I can log into my pasport and use everything that takes the pasport to use from my roommates computer though. I thought it was a MSN problem at first but i then was unable to log onto my College campus' website either. I can get as far as their home page but then when i try to go to the logon page i get the "Cannot Find Server" page again. This leads me to believe that its all highly secure connections or something along those lines. I'm pretty desperate right now, i've tried everything I can think of. Without these capabilities I am severly limited in the things i need to get done within the next couple of days. Any more help will be greatly appreciated.

I run on Windows XP

Use a Wireless Linksys router (which i doubt is the problem since it worked fine for the past four months)

And i use Internet Explorer 6.0

I just noticed another problem. when i am outside of these forums on the dell website, i am not able to log into My Account with dell.  Any help there Dell???

you might have your IE security settings set too tight, so that it won't store the login cookie.

Thanks for the reply, I just went and tried that. I even deleted all my existing cookies and temporary internet files. I even tried setting all my security features to their absolute minimum and that didnt work. so I went back and just set it so it would accept all cookies. And to be safe I also restarted my computer. After all that I was still unable to sign in to any of the sites i need to. Is it time to throw my laptop off of my balcony???

And you have all the latest patches from the Windows Update site?

i just tried to update again, now it wont let me even get into the update site. it said my accessx controls wouldnt allow it so it had me delete all the files. and i tried manually setting my security to low, and it still wouldnt work.

Well I still need help if anyone is willing and/or able to help. Dell and my Internet Service Provider have been about as helpful as a stick.
