Can't open Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility; Nothing happens when clicked
Hi,
When I click the 'Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility' from the Start menu (or in the control panel) nothing happens. The hourglass appears for a second and then reverts back to the pointer. Nothing ever opens. I have an Inspiron 9400. I can open the 'Wireless Setup Wizard' but I'm not trying to setup a new network; I'm trying to connect to my already existing network.
Why am I unable to open the Utility? I thought I had all the drivers.

I re-installed this driver:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R151517&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4_9400&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=9806&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=12&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=202136
- but it had no effect. Is this not the correct one (I'm in Canada)?

I removed it completely, rebooted, and reinstalled the driver (including another reboot). Again when I try to open the Utility nothing happens. I'm assuming I'm installing the correct driver since after installing it the Utility appears in the control panel and under 'Dell Wireless' in the Start Menu. In both cases when you click the Utility, the hourglass comes up for a second and then goes back to a pointer.
Is there something I'm missing?

Before I had to re-install, I had a little Wireless icon that looked like a fan that would go green if connected and that you could enable or disable. Wired and wireless worked well because the router is right near me. I'm assuming this was the Dell Utility. I don't understand why I can't open it!

Last week I decided to re-install Windows and go back to day one, out-of-the-box from Dell. I've got everything back to the way it was, except the Dell Wireless Utility doesn't open in order for me to connect to my network. I'm assuming the Dell Utility is the 'fan shaped' icon that's either green if connected or red if not.
I've had the wireless working since the day I got the laptop so I'm a little perplexed why I'm unable to open the utility and get this thing going. For the time being, I've been wired because the router is right beside me (the home computer uses the adapter because it's further away).
So I'm just trying to get the wireless working again. Since I've re-installed Windows, the laptop is basically as if I was a new Dell client with a new laptop trying to open the utility.
