changing my mini pcmi card to intel pro wireless?

Currently I have the Dell True Mobile 1300 mini pcmi card but it doesn't function. Iam using my d-link regular pcmi card and I want to know if i buy the mini Intel card and install it, will that work? I know some about computers but not much. Please help me out, someone,

Thank You

Yes, the Intel MiniPIC cards should work.  But, if you spend anytime at all reading through the many messages on these forums that report problems with the drivers for the Intel cards, you may want to reconsider installing an Intel card.

Like volcano11 said, the Intel cards can be very confusing for some people to properly configure. The Dell TrueMobile 1350, 1370, 1450, 1470 are much easier to configure then the Intel miniPCI wireless cards.

If you are going to replace your card - before you remove your old card go into the Device Manager and uninstall it, then shutdown your machine and make the swap.

This is probably more replying to VB than you ... but some intel cards, even properly configured, do not work up to par.  Stick with a dell card or buy a pc-card if you don't need it to be completely internal.  Ebay is a great place to find a good deal.

Yeah I know, but for the non-techie's it is easier to simplify it by telling them the "TM cards are easier to configure than the Intel cards" and leaving it at that.
