I have the same modem on my new D810 Latitude.

It appears to be mainly a software-driven modem with Data/fax/voice capabilities.

Not sure about speakerphone.

I don't like it as I cannot get or maintain a good connection as I can with hardware-based modems.  In fact, I have wasted a whole day trying to set up a dialup connection on our campus but keep getting error 619, as it hangs at the verify username/password window (Windows XP SP2).

I Don't think it supports voice because with the same modem, I can't talk when using Phone Dialer.

Every time I click to talk button, phone dialer automatically hangs up.

According to the Conexant MDC Modem HTML User's Manual available at:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R81796&formatcnt=1&fileid=107451

the D110 MDC modem Does Not support voice/speakerphone :smileymad:

One of my MIS friends, suggested purchasing a PCI (voice) modem card for this purpose rather than trying to "replace" the internal modem.  Of course his suggestion is based on the fact I connect to my ISP via DSL.  Not sure what impact the PCI voice modem would have if connecting to your ISP through it.

Hope this helps :smileywink:
