make sure u have a hand under the printer icon in control panel under printers showing that you want to share the printer on the network. also make sure file and printer sharing is enabled. check your firewalls too

exactly right!

can't believe how much time i wasted -- just as you said -- i guess my other inspiron (with McAfee) let it go through -- the new with PC-illin) did not until I disabled the firewall then it was easy.
