D-Link DI604 Router Strange Problem
I have a strange problem with my router. This is the set up. Road Runner cable with 3 PC's and 1 iMac connected by Ethernet to my D-Link DI 604 router. It was working fine until Friday morning. I think we lost our power for an hour or so, I work nights so I wasn't home to know definetly. My connection would not stay on, it kept going on and off like every 20 seconds. I thought it was a cable problem with RR. But I connected directly from my cable modem to one PC and Internet worked fine. So I determined it was the router. Called D-Link and tried a bunch of stuff i.e. ipconfig release and renew IP address, reset router ( Pin Hole in the back of router. ) , entering the required IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway. Nothing worked. D-Link sent me to senior support, while waiting, about 20-30 minutes everything started to work!!! But my IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway all have the wrong settings. I say wrong because on Thursday I checked the settings . They were; IP Address 192.168.0.103 , Subnet 255.255.255.0 , Gateway 192. 168.0.1 . These are the setting I orginally set, except for the renewed IP Address which changes as needed. Right now my settings are IP Address 24.198.80.63( Last # changes on each computer ), Subnet 255.255.240.0 ( Same on all) , and Gateway 24.198.80.0 ( Same on all) . Everything works fine Internet and Intranet. I can not connect to D-Link configuration site ( 192.168.0.1 ) so I can not do firmware up dates or reconfigure my router. I guess I am wondering if anyone else has had this type of problem or knows of a solution. Thanks in advance.

Just an update, replacement DLink up and working just the way it is supposed to. I always like to know how posts turn out, so I wanted to update my interesting problem.

So the new battery's got a pending RMA on it, and the old UPS was used as a "trade-up". The vendor claims it's safe to ship the thing back to them.
Truly amazing sight. That's the last one that was in service during the power surge, thankfully.

Thank the lord for RMA's ;-) . After installing the new router I have decided the original was bad from day one. When I entered the web IP address with the new one a box popped up to enter the admin password. With the old one I could not connect, I went through Google to get to the web site and went from there. Good luck with your new UPS.
