D800 with Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection

Hi there!

I have some trouble staying connected to the Internet with my Dell D800 using Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection.

I lieve in Denmark and I therefore often visit .dk domains which works just fine. But if I have to visit a .com og .org domain (foreign domain) I cannot connect to it. The page cannot be displayed or the action as been cancelled.

I have then tried to enter the Intel software and set the power manager to manual so that I can adjust the signal strength and battery time. If I put the signal strength on 100 % it works fine with .com or .org's but if I give the D800 more battery time it will time out (PING request). Weird? Yeah!

I then read the manual for the WLAN card from Dell. I have followed the steps and is now using XP to control my network instead for the Intel software. Now it seems like that I am loosing the connection. My MSN Messenger logs off constantly and I am unable to stream music or video ( music from www.thevoice.dk or video from www.dr.dk). I also often have to click twice on hyperlinks before they react on the command. Just like the card or connection has been switched off. The LAN indicator in XP says connection is established.

According to Dell's homepage the drivers are updated, so everything should be OK at that point.

Oh! I am using a D-Link DI-514 Wi-Fi router. The firmware is not updated because the connection works fine with my dad's D600 WLAN connection and my D800 Broadcom cabled connection.

I would be very glad if someone could give me a hint.

Thank you!

Problem solved! It was the router firmware that needed an update.

There where some connectivity issues with the shipping software.

What a luck!

I also have a D-Link WiFi 614+ which having the same problem as you described early with my Intel 2200BG on my Inspiron 8600 notebook.

The last thing that I didn't do is to update the driver on my router. I will have a try tonight to see if this help.
