dell 1300 truemobile wireless lan
I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, that uses a 1300 wireless lan, that keeps crashing. Is there a fix for this, can I replace it with another wireless lan card? Whenever I first start the computer, I would get the error message saying your wireless card had stopped working.

Hi shnhutson,
Click on the appropriate link depending on the Operating system from the links listed below. Click Download File and Save File on the desktop.
Windows XP: http://dell.to/UbA1jQ
Windows Vista: http://dell.to/WYEhG8
Once the wireless Driver is saved to the desktop, go to the Device Manager, uninstall the wireless driver and install the same from the saved file on the desktop.
Check the status and reply to this post for further assistance.

Hi shnhutson,
Normally Dell wireless cards shipped with Inspiron 1720 are Dell Wireless 1505, 1390, 1490, Intel PRO/Wireless 4965 a/b/g/n Mini-Card, Intel 3945 WLAN (802.11a/g) Mini-Card. Since you have mentioned it is Dell 1300 Truemobile wireless, I would like to know if it is an external card or if it is inbuilt and let me know if you are able to go online with this wireless card.

Sorry, its the 1390 internal card. I'm able to go online, but at startup it usually fails and during operation it sometimes fails. I would get an error message saying your wireless card is not functioning properly, please see your manufacturer.

Thanks again for your help and quick response to my issue. I decided to buy a new Dell laptop to replace this one, but if the issue holds up I will pass this one on to a family member.
