Dell 600m - Broadcom 570x Gigabit Problem - Not Recognized
My Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller used to work on my 600m. But recently, it disappeared from my Device list and now the computer sees it as "Found New Hardware: PCI DEVICE" or "Found New Hardware: Ethernet Card".
I tried rolling back drivers, but there was another error "No previous drivers found". When I tried using "Dell Reset Drivers", it scanned, detected the same problem: "Ethernet card was found with no drivers".
So I went to the downloads page and downloaded the latest Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller drivers. I installed the Broadcom Advance Control Suite but it said it did not detect any Broadom device. I also tried installing it by "Add Hardware" under Device Manager, but it would not accept the drivers. And even when I manually installed the drivers, the ethernet card would not be recognized as a Broadcom 570x. *AND* when it was recognized, it had that yellow exclaimation mark saying that there was a driver issue and that the device is not connected.
I even updated my BIOS...
So it remains in "Other" under Device Manager as "PCI DEVICE" or "Ethernet Card".
Please, if any one can suggest a solution to this, it would be very much appreciated!!

Have you tried removing the device from Device Manager, rebooting, and then reinstalling the drivers downloaded from the Dell download site?

There is a good chance that your ethernet controller has failed. If you are still under warranty, call Dell Tech Support immediately. They are the only ones that can authorize replairs or replacement parts.
