Dell Inspiron 1520 with wireless N support
Hello guys,
I own Inspiron 152 and I want it to support the 802.11 N standard, since it currently supports only B/G. The currently installed wireless card is "DW 1395". Which card should I buy to replace the existing one in order to support wireless N.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Checho_85,
The Inspiron 1520 systems ship out with the following wireless cards:
You can get the Dell Wireless 1505 a/b/g/n Mini-Card or Intel 4965 Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card in order for the system to support the 802.11 N technology.
Please reply for any further help.

Hi Checho_85,
Thank you for your reply.
You can install any wireless mini card on the system. The mini cards have the same dimensions and connections, so installing the 1505 or 4965 wont be an issue.
Please reply for any further information.

I don't see the 1395 listed above and I am pretty confident that this is the one in the laptop (see image below). Can I replace 1395 with 1505 or 4965?

Thank you for the clarification. I looked around and it seems that the 4965 is the better choose, so I went ahead and ordered it.
One last question - the current 1395 has two antennas while the 4965 has three. Is this going to affect the transfer speed or just the range? I am going this change in order to get better transfer speed in my home network.
Thank you once again Abhishek.

Hi Checho_85,
The 4965 has upto 5 times faster data rates up to 300Mbps offer major improvement over normal 802.11a/g products that deliver 54Mbps.
You can check the following article on more information on this wireless card:

Hope this helps. Please reply for any further questions.
