Dell Inspiron E1505- Wireless WLAN 1390 Mini Card Problems

Question

a pop up from windows kept asking me did i want it to handle my wireless connection...so i finally click it and poof ! my wireless wont connect any more and ive tried everything i could think of.. i really need help :(

If you want Windows to handle your wireless connection, open Network Connections, right click on View Available Wireless Networks, select your wireless network, and click on the connect button.   Does this make it work again?   If you want the Dell Utility to handle your wireless connection, open the Dell utility, and check the box to let the utility manage your wireless connection.   Steve

This is not an instant messaging service!   Try using System Restore to restore your computer to a state present before the problem started occurring.   Steve

Hi,   Do you have Mcafee Home Wireless Security software installed on the computer? If yes, uninstall it from Mcafee Uninstaller section under Add/Remove Programs.   Rgds   Best-Try (Chris)

May be you already solved your problem or you might not.

In any case here are some info:

In WinXP, you could have EITHER Windows Wireless Utility OR the 1390 wireless utility manages your login and network. You can choose one but not both.

In either case you have to configure the chosen utility, i.e. login, security settings and others.

You have received some good advice, some of them might work for you 1. using system restore 2.disable your firewall and security measures (temporality) for diaganostics purposes. I will add, use your router utility to see what your settings are and set them accordingly.
