Dell J1679 Dual Port Server Adapter "Teaming" Configure Problem

My question is about the "teaming feature" on the Dell J1679 ( Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Dual Port Server Adapter). I have several PCs and a server with these cards. They are connected to a D-Link DGS-1016D Gigabit-Switch. I am using the Intel PROVISTA32 drivers. I have set both ports on each card to "teaming". But, only one port seems to be active while the other remains in standby. Have I not set them up correctly? I have searched Intel's site and have not found any documentation on the correct setup for this. Any knowledge you might impart would be helpful.
