Hi,

I"m a bit confused, but you stated you've made changes to Windows?  A lot of changes?  Do you know specifically what you've changed?  Did this issue start after one of those changes?

If you can give us a bit more details on what you changed to Windows I'll see whether we can help you find a resolution to your problems.

In the meantime you may want to check out the link to the Dell Networking and Wireless Support Center.  You may find some troubleshooting steps that may help you.

Hi,

Sorry, a bit confused by your statement.  What version do you currently have installed?  32-bit?  (you said installed newer version "to" win7 32 bit).

Here is the link to the 32 bit version for the 5300/5100/500 series wireless card. Please download that.

Then go into your system and delete all network connections:

To delete a wireless network connection
  1. Start Network and Sharing Center.
  2. In the Tasks pane, click Manage wireless networks.
  3. Right-click the connection you want to delete, and then click Remove network.
  4. In the Manage Wireless Networks - Warning dialog box, click OK.

Once all are removed, run the install for the newly downloaded driver, reboot the system, and then try to connect to a wireless network and see what happens.

All this assume that you had no wireless problems when you were running Win7 64-bit version.

Next, check the power management settings of your PC.  Check out this link from Microsoft to see if matches what you're describing, and if so, follow it's directions.

  • Move the computer to within 3-9 feet (1-3 meters) of the router (if possible).
  • Make sure that the wireless antenna is on.
  • Run the Network Troubleshooter.
  • Turn off and then turn on all the devices on the network to reboot and synchronize them, for more information refer Dell Latitude E4300 Manual
