Dell Network Assistant - Why did I bother?

OK I spent the $50 to purchase this software after my initial 90 period ran out while I was overseas with no wireless access.
I got home and bought the product, but now I am left wondering why I bothered. What can it do that windows does not already do?

I have a Dell desktop with a Netcomm wireless router/modum, my XPS M1210 connects fine to the net through the Netcomm using the Supplied Intel PROset wireless. When I try to configure the Dell Network Assistant (DNA) I receive the following errors;

1. if I click the "Setup/Repair my network" on the DNA front page that opens the "Network repair wizard" which does its thing and reply's with "there are no problems with your network connection" sounds good so far however, the DNA frontpage still states that the Network Connection status (at the top of the page below the toolbar) remains "Disconnected"

2. I then click the "go to my wireless" icon and my home connection is listed on the left under wireless devices with great signal strength but when I click on the right hand side under the "I want to..." connect to "Summers home" network, I am told that in order for me to connect I need to enable the Microsoft wireless zero config service, when I do as instructed here by right clicking on my wireless network connection in the windows network connections and selecting the view avail wireless networks, I get the page that I have asked another program to manage my wireless network connections (we are going in circles here) so I then allow Microsoft to manage my connections, but still no joy with the DNA.

All I'm trying to do here is use the product that I paid good money for and possibly share a few folders between my desktop and laptop.

After calling Dell Tech support they told me that I needed to contact single click systems in the USA for tech support!#*% at international phone rates from Australia, I dont think so. Dell should back the product that they put their name to.

Any advice?

I have consistently stated in this forum that the Dell Network Assistant is full of bugs.  It's unfortunate that you didn't figure this out before shelling out the money.   You will have to call Dell Tech Support and politely demand a refund for the garbage program that they charged you for.   Ranting here, won't do a lot of good since this is a user to user forum.  Good luck getting a resolution.
