Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN MiniPCI Card

I have never had any problems in the past, but for the past couple of weeks my wireless speed has dropped dramatically.  The speeds used to be 48 or 54 Mbps but it has been running at 11 Mbps or less.  It sometimes doesn't allow me to connect to the internet even though it says I have a connection available.  I am never more than 10 feet from the wireless router so I am sure distance from the router is not the problem.  I have downloaded all updates from Dell but I still have the problem.  Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I'm going to assume you are running wireless-G. Many things could be interfering with the frequency. Since it is on the same frequency as microwaves and cordless phones. But you said it worked in the past. Another possibility is that someone else in the area recently got a wireless router and is using the same wireless channel as you and causing interference. Try logging into your router and changing the channel.

Also, make sure your network is secured because if so many other people are connecting to your wireless network it could limit your speeds and connectivity dramatically.
