Dell Wireless WLAN Card Error msg
The full text from my event viewer is
"C:\Program Files\Dell\Dell Wireless WLAN Card\bcmwltry.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found
Appears to go back to 16/06/13 and appers every 7 - 10 secs.
Originally i have sought help via microsoft answer and with their encouragement believe i have updateed every available drive available on the DELL website., after reinstalling VC++2008 .
I am now turning my attention to my WLAN card itself.
But may i ask if any one here has any experience of this fault or has seen it before.
I am a bit concerned that it is not flagged up as an error by my notification centre.

My appologies for posting again but i was curious because i normally have my Wireless connections turned off because i have never used it. I only connect using my Wireless mobild broadband from O2. I turn on my wireless connections and just ignored the other local connections available. But it appears that this has dramatically reduced the number of error messages in my event viewer.
I will post more details tomorow as soon as i can.
THX

After a little exitement last night i was hoping that my problem was significantly reduced for whatever reason.
But i have booted up my laptop and found that i still get a very significant number of ther error message for my WLAN CARD even int he first 10 minutes.
So my thoughts last night were incorrect.
I hope you have recxieved my service TAG by private message and i look ofrwardto your considered opinion.

Hi
I'm begining to wonder if i have always posted in the right place. I hope i have now !
I have now performed a factory re-install using the boot up option (F8). I have done nothing more than this and created a standard user account.
Here is my response.
I have performed the factory inbstall and it took no more that about 10 minutes. where required i selected options relating to my geographic location. I did not activiate Mcaffee.
After rebooting a few times during the evening i found the following errors and warnings in the event viewer:

I have added this information so you can have the fullest details.
I assume from this respone that
1) my problem was not hardwrae related
2) the above error messages are normal 'background chatter' and nothing to worry about
3) My problem has now been solved.
If this is the case then thanks. (smiley face).

Thanlks for the information about the Bcmwltry.exe. It looks like i was posting int he wrong place. I have added the same details here ( in the right place). I will check my event view tonight after leaving my machine on for a short while and report back. Current evidence suggests we are moving in the right direction.

Hello and thankk your for the links.
My weekend was eventfull but i think successfull.
This weekend i attempted to carry out the instructions in your first link. As i progressively removed non-microsoft entries from the starp. the numbr and type or error message descreased. In the end i had to leave Norton Internet Security in last because it was not possibel to remove this. That generated a a couple of error messages which only went away when ibooted in safe mode, whic gave no error messages.
Since my Norotn would not install with the Factory build , i resolved to try you clean install. This took me two goe because i was not sure that the Upgrade install was clean. So on Sunday afternoon after backing up my data, i performed a clean install.
Although i had a few probelms with a memory stick, this went well. I shoudl say that since it took me two goes to get this far via a factory insall, i took the precaution of removing two WINDOWS.00 files. One from this clean install and one from my previous install, because they took up cnsiderable space and did not relate to my original problem.
I boote dup ist thing this morning and find that within 30 minutes no error messages were generated.
here is what i have from the clean install:
20:44:31 - error
InitializePrintProvider failed for provider inetpp.dll. This can occur because of system instability or a lack of system resources.
20:47:18 - Error
Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x0026B9207451. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.
20:48:16 - Warning

20:48:16 - Error
Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188
20:50:08 - Warning
The maximum file size for session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\system32\WDI\LogFiles\BootCKCL.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 104857600 bytes.
20:50:08 - Error
Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188
20:50:22 - Warning
The Windows Search Service is starting up and attempting to remove the old search index {Reason: Full Index Reset}.
And from my memort stck issues i had 5 of these:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR3.
I assume that the first batch of error messages relates to the install and is nothing to worry about.
My view of the 2nd batch is born out by various answers on Microsoft Answers.
As part of my tests using the factory build i had significant problems re-installing my Norton internet security sofyare from disk. So i have decided to use microsoft security essentials in the short term. I have an up-to-date copy of this downloaded late last wekk along with the latest copy of my os connection manager. The only other piece of software i intend to install in the short term is iTunes.
So of the manual install instruction i have completed up to step 3.
Step 4 instructs me to install DELL Drivers. Are these those already part of DELL installation CD ? Are these essential at this stage or should i procede to load and test my 3 apps first. Please advise on how i should procede ?
