Dell XPS 8700 Wireless Limited
I just received a Refurb Dell xps 8700 windows 8. Dell 1703 wireless, atheros. And it see's my phone's tethering wireless connection and connects with no problem. But connecting to the home network doesn't seem to be working out it keeps showing limited connection. Whereas i've got android phones, iphones, ipads, gaming consoles, windows 7 laptops, windows 8 laptops, all able to connect to the wireless with no problem. I've updated the drivers, i've checked device manager. So I don't know how to get it to connect. Any suggestions?

Hi Curryfied,
I would suggest you to uninstall and re-install the wireless card driver on the system. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the wireless card.
After the uninstall finishes restart the system. Then re-install the wireless driver using the link below.

Please let me know if this helps.

I've uninstalled the drivers, but everytime I restart it, it's installed it by itself. So it goes back to the same problem.

Hi Curryfied,
I would suggest you to check the “Delete the driver software for this device.” while uninstalling the wireless card so that drivers also get uninstalled as suggested in the step 5 above.

I'm having the same problem and I want to follow your instructions, but wouldn't disabling and uninstalling the Wifi card make it so that I can't use that link to download the driver again on the internet, which is not working?
