desperate for help!!!

my wireless network will NOT stay online!  in my list of networks there is only 1 that is my own secure network....and this keeps disconnecting and putting me into some unsecured network with limited access.
 
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME....i run a business from home and cannot function!

yes, i have the intel icon in the tray saying excellent connection.  of course, i also have the windows icon saying the same thing :smileymad:
 
can i get rid of the windows icon without messing up the intel connection/software?
 
also, where are you writing from ( what part of the world ).

You are welcome, BUT !!!!!!!!!!! do you have an internet via wireless connection at all???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fine I've help you. Really I am!

I'm from Latvia (it's ex soviet republic on Baltic sea east cost ;-) )

To remove windows wireless ntwork icon (don't worry !!! just to remove icon!!!) go to Networks and wireless network (working) properties. there is a checkbox "show icon in notification area when connected", uncheck it !

good evening(?) to you.........
 
so, after all of your work and direction --- the wireless network is still not holding the connection.  i only have 1 with my name and secure on the 'list of networks'......and it is not staying connected.
 
any other ideas for this???

where you have it, in notebook?

Here you can find a page from manual of your router (Dell 2350). Link for whole manual is somewhere in middle of our thread. But you can find at after first one. Please read from first link (there is how to check or just enter inside of your router from pc connected via cable or wifi).

i also would like to know why there is only 1 choice for my secured network on the 'list' of wireless networks?  if that fails, i'm dead in the water?  do i have to rely on only 1 network being available??

Hi Karen,

I'm not happy you again with same question ( ;-) ).
As I know some poeple made everything you made and have succes.

OK. Now you are using Intel PROSET, and are not using Windows Util. Your PROSET settings with regards of guide and wifi is working.
So you could be sure your wifi card sittings is good as well settings for TCP/IP.
If all of these staff is OK you must check your router settings.

In any case I'm online.

Overview

The web-based configuration tool enables you to set up advanced network configuration for your Dell Wireless 2350 Broadband Router. Follow the instructions below to gain access to the web tool.

NOTE:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher or Netscape 4.0 or higher must be used for the web-based configuration tool.




NOTE: The web-based configuration tool only allows access to one user at a time.


1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.

2. Type the following text in the Open box: http://my.router

!!!!! login: admin
password: admin (!!!!it must be)!!!!!!

from link below you must choose Access Point
and make all security options disable.
