CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME....i run a business from home and cannot function!

click (not sure, maybe twice) on proset icon to pop-up proset util. there will be your unsecured wireless network, select it and push disconnect (somewhere down from network)
Then go Start > Settings > Network Connections > LAN network (wired, with name of your wired LAN card and see what happens)
!!! In case it wouldn't connect to wired LAN connect wireless (like you disconnect earlier) to be online again.
But if you will connect wired - it could be better for now.

i did ... now on that list the wireless says connected, but the 1394 also says connected.  when i right click on that one, choose properties, it shows that it's a client for microsoft networks.  should i disable that one?

ok now go to Intel proset, choose (i really don't no now) network you have (with name of yours) or choose create new network. Make settings: SSID (name the same as SSID in router), find security and write down this key for WEP key position (from page you have). and try to cennect to this network but first of all disable LAN connection (you allways can come back for LAN by enabling it)

On page with security you have position (like table) with WEP. There must be Key 1, Key2, Key3 ... What you have there?

ok I'll try to explane your router stucked when you making some savings. am I right? if yes - it better to reset it, but I'm not sure about your broadband connection settings because resetting will take it to factory state. If somebody made something after factory (for example your internet provider) you'll be without internet and I can't say to any.
