I'm a developer working on security software for the PPC 2003. There seems to be a bug in the TrueMobile CF 1180 card device driver involving multiple protocols binding to it. Would anyone from Dell care to give me a contact to whom I can report this bug, or work to resolve it?
You'd need to call corporate, as these forums are user to user. And I do know there was a recent driver for the 1180 cards that added WPA support, maybe it improved the bindings also.
I believe Broadcom makes the TrueMobile 1180 and supplies the driver for laptops.
HOWEVER, Agere Systems makes the compact flash TrueMobile 1180 and supplies the driver for use under Pocket PC 2003 (AKA PPC2003 or Windows CE400).
Please visit http://www.agere.com/index.html - you will also find an updated Pocket PC 2003 driver for the TrueMobile 1180 on their site that will actually let you disable power management (the Dell supplied driver automatically enables power management. If you disable it, it magically turns itself back on - rendering your wireless connection useless).
Hope this helps!
