Dimension 4600C--Ethernet Adapter Not Detected--Please Help

Hello! I'm having some problems with my Dell Dimension 4600C and I was wondering if someone could help me out...

My computer has been having lots of trouble lately thanks to spyware and viruses, so much that I could not use the internet without having my computer freeze and die. Anti Spyware programs didn't help too much either, so yesterday I wiped out my system and reinstalled the operating system, and most of my drivers have been reinstalled---However...

I connect to the internet through a wireless network for my other computers--however, our main computer, the dimension, connects directly through the router using an ethernet cable. But when I try to connect, it says no ethernet adapter can be detected.

Okay, so I went to the control panel and went to the device manager, where I found the ethernet driver listed by a yellow question mark. I opened it, and it said my ethernet driver was not installed, and further told me to insert my disc that came with my computer which had all my drivers on it. I then allowed it to search the disc for the driver--but it couldn't find it!

Could anyone help me out, or direct me to a link where I can download the driver? I'm on my laptop at the moment, and if anyone could give me a driver download to put on a disc to transfer to my desktop I would appreciate it much! Thanks!

Since you reinstalled Windows, you will first need to install the chipset drivers for your motherboard.  They can be downloaded from:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600C&category=0&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3268&devlib=27

Next install the drivers for your network adapter.  These can be downloaded from:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600C&category=0&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3597&devlib=5

If you find you need other drivers, they can all be found at:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600C&category=0&os=WW1&osl=EN
