Dimension 8200 and router problem
I have dell dimension 8200 that came with windows xp home edition and I have lynksys router on it up untill few days ago . I have upgraded my OS to XP professional . Well couple of days later all of a sudden I am getting connection problems . I checked my cable connection and it seems to be fine I am connecting thru it right now without router , but problem is that computer does not want to see internet connection thru router . How can I resolve this situation.? please help

Note that if you are changing the connection to modem between a computer and a router, you need to do a complete reset of the network every time you make the change. To do this, shut everything off. Wait about 5 minutes. Turn on the modem first, and wait another 5 minutes. Then turn on the device that is connected directly to the modem (either the router or the computer), then turn on any other computers that will connect through the router.

Saga continues :)
I have ran Microsoft liveupdate today and downloaded update for intel network adapter (something like intel network 100/ adapter)
in the past it was no problems but after update internet connection dropped and icon of acquiring network address appeared. It ran for like 4 minutes
but did not solve problem. I had to restart PC to get internet going again.
Is it network card that has problems , do I need replacement?
