Downloading drives to transfer on a different computer

I had a virus, and had to dump my system. Now I can't get onto the internet without a few drivers. If I download them on my second computer, will I be able to put them on a cd, and install on my Dell?

The reason why I'm asking this... When I made my download list and went to download, it warned me before saving that the files might hurt or be unsafe for this computer. Is that just a usual prompt that it gives every time? Or will it try and instill them on this computer which is an eMachine?
