Dropped Connection w/ VNC viewer and Intel 2100

Strange Problem,

I use Vcon 1.14 to manage VNC connections to users whom I support. I connect via a Linksys BEFW11S4 B router with WEP enabled w/ cablemodem connection.  The firmware on the router is 1.50 .14 (the latest available from '04)

I have a Inspiron 8600 w/ Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100  3A mini pci card w. latest DELL driver 1.2.3.14 dated 7/28/04.  Computer is running latest bios, A13

Whenever I connect to anyone's machine via VNC (either using VCON or straight VNC viewer) the connection will freeze after a few minutes and my internet connection is trashed.  To be specific, my computer's connection to the router is trashed.   I must reboot computer, but it hangs on "closing network connections and I must power off machine.

Ths does not happen when I connect via wire, only the wireless card.

Oh yeah, computer logs onto W2K network but IP is static, not assigned by router or network. DNS too

Any suggestions??
