DW5930e compatibility with 7540?
Precision 7540
Hello.
Is there anybody on this planet who is able to answer if the DW5930e WWAN adapter is compatible with the Dell Precision 7540 or if not, if there is any other compatible internal WWAN adapter which is supporting 5G bands?
Thanks!

Hi,
it's me again. In the meantime I have ordered a DW5932e and installed it into the M.2 slot.
Well, the device shows up in the device manager, but there is no way to install the drivers which are available around the DW5932e for other Dell notebooks. Even extracting the Driver Packages and installing the drivers manually doesn't work. It seems that there is a mechanism which prevents users to install drivers on notebooks which are not allowed to install.

Yes.
in the end, I‘ve installed DW5821e-eSIM. But it didn’t run out of the box, as it seems to me that these modules are FCC locked when the laptop is not equipped from beginning with such a modem. The module was not able to connect to any radio network.
It was necessary to bring the module to FTM mode. Therefore you need tools to run AT commands. As the DW5821e has a Qualcomm chip, you can use these development tools to run these commands on the module.
Here some hints:
