enable bluetooth detection led on Latitude D610?

Greeting, I hope some one can offer some asst. I have a Lat. D610, originally had XP Pro, but the standard at work is 2000 Pro, so they replaced the OS. Just got a bluetooth mouse that works with the Widcomm drivers, installed perfectly but the led light does not work.....anyone have anyway to enable the led light? Thanks in advance.
