Faxing with a cable modem

Hi everyone!! Here's the rub. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 PC with Windows XP Pro. Included is a BCM V.92 Fax modem and a Dell AIO A920 Scanner /Printer. My Internet connection is via cable (would you believe I have a 10mbps through put speed?)  Question: how can I use the fabulous set-up to send and receive faxes via cable?

You can't use the cable modem to send FAXes. FAX is by nature a telephone line based transfer protocol. You need to use the built-in BCM modem for FAX.

There are some internet based FAX services. You send them the document via the internet, and they FAX it out over a telco line. Some are free, some charge a fee. I have no specific recommendations as to a service.

When you want to send a fax just plup in the phone line

and when you are done unplug the line.
