Firewall blocking me from using limewire

Ok heres is my problem i just downloaded lime wire, which is a program you can use to download music. When i downloaded it, it wouldnt connect to the internet because it said that there was a firewall blocking it. So i took off the firewall on windows and i took off the firewall in mcafee and it still says that there is a firewall blocking it. Now i can get on the internet but limewire is not connecting i tried kazaa morpheus and they all said the same thing they couldnt connect. Does somebody have any experice with this at all?
I have an inspiron 600m with windows xp.

I am reluctant to offer any advice on using Limewire, Morpheous, or Kazaa, as all of these programs download spyware and other internet parasites to your computer which will eventually cause numerouos errors in internet explorer and slow your system to a crawl, in which case you will be back on the forums crying for help in ridding yourself of these dangerous and obnoxious programs.  My advice at this point is to uninstall any Limewire, Morpheous, and Kazaa.  Then do a complete spyware scan of your computer using the free versions of Spybot and Adaware to rid yourself of the garbage that came with these programs, and then find a file sharing system that does not load spyware and malware onto your computer.  Trust me you will be thankful that you followed this advice.

Here is a list of infected and clean peer to peer file sharing programs:

Note that I am going to have to retract what I said about Limewire.  It appears that they have cleaned up their act and the current version no longer bundles spyware.  Still, be aware, because viruses are easily passed through these file sharing programs.

As for the firewire issue, see the following from Limewire's support site:
