frozen web browsers IE and Firefox

Question

i have a dimension 9200 desktop. when i browse a web page, the web browser, i have IE6 and firefox, it kept freezing for 2-3 seconds every half minute. only web browsers, window explorer works fine. i found out it is because Norton anti-virus is enabled. i have to disable it to surf the web. does any one know how to fix this problem? thanks in advance.

you can disable the add-ins within internet explorer 7.  this might help.  you can also try contacting norton for assistance.
