Frustrate? Oh yea! Secure sites...

You name it...I have done it!  Reinstalled XP...even bought a brand new shiny version all my own for the low, low price of $250.  Ordered a new modem/router from Sympatico.  Talked with Microsoft and Dell and still coming up with not being able to access secure web sites (ie. banking, hotmail, iwin.com (first page loads but cannot access games!)

Anyone know anything to rectify this?????

I had a problem like this before... Don't know if this will help you or not, but worth a shot.

I had the Google toolbar installed with popup blocker turned off, however some how it was effecting certian sites. I knoticed it with internet banking. After I un-installed the Google toolbar, everything work fine. I ended up adding the toolbar back and all is still good. If you are using the Google toolbar, try un-installing it.

Maybe this will help - I've been working on this same problem for 3 days.  I have Norton Internet security 2006 and did virus scan too - no problems.  However, when I ran Pest Control - I found 3 pests - on big one was a hijack pest - got it when I loaded Adobe Reader 7.0 - called MyWebSearch - also had WebFun.  I could get on to Yahoo.com, but everytime I tried to go anywhere else, I'd get the error message of page can't be displayed.  I tried everything - Winsockfix - ipconfig  - and ping - when I saw that my router was communicating with computer and that I had a ? in my IP address - I realized it was defintely a pest or virus.  So do a search on your computer and see if you have any of these.  Once I deleted them - (you have to delete them, reboot, and then scan before opening browser again to get rid of them) I'm back in business!  Hope this helps!
