Getting LAN to report right IP address

LAN Working great... but when I play online games and nobody can connect to my game server.  I believe my IP number that the games and the LAN Status screen is wrong.  Everything says my IP address is 192.168.1.100 (last number going up as I add computers to LAN) but when I go to www.dslreports.com/whois it says my IP is 66.142.215.141.  When I connect the DSL cable to one computer it says the same IP address (66.142.215.141).  How can I get my LAN to report the right IP address?   Thanks for your help

Everything is exactly as it should be.  When you are connected through the router, the router assigns on computers on local IP address in the range 192.168.xxx.xxx.   The router gets an IP address from the dsl modem (66.142.xxx.xxx) then routes the traffic to the correct computer.  When you connect directly to the modem, you get the IP address assigned by the dsl modem (66.142.xxx.xxx).  This is called Network Address Translation and acts to protect your computers much as a firewall does (most router manufacturers even call this a firewall).

If you want to be able to act as a sever while connected through the router, you will either have to open all ports on one computer to the network by enabling the DMZ on that computer (this is done through the router) or you will have to use the port forwarding features of the router.   See your router manual for information on how to do either of these.
