Going wireless

I have a Dimension 4600C system.  I bought Netgear WGT624 for my home network.  I also bought a net work card WG311T for my system.  This does not seem to be to correct card - what should I get

Ok, if this is a wireless NIC and a wireless AP (to lame to look it up) then it should always work. Just tell us what the problem is. Your description is pretty vague

OK I don't have an answer but I have a similar configuration question.

I am running a 4600 with the same netgear router and a wg311G wireless card in a XPS D266 machine. I also hardwire ehternet a compaq laptop directly to the router. I have access to the internet with all machines but I can not share files betwen the computers. The configuration of the connections are Cable modem to the router and then ethernet to the Dell 4600. Compaq and the dell xps d266 connect directly to the router. Do I have to reconfigure this so that the cable modem goes directly to the 4600 and then connect the router to another NIC in the 4600 to share files? At one point I was able to 'see' the dell4600 from the laptop but it was not able to see any of the shared folders.

junkmanaz,

If both systems can access the Internet via the router, the problem with sharing has to do with firewall or security settings, or with TCP/IP settings on one or all of the machines. Specifically, if any of the machines are running operating systems earlier than Windows 2000, you need NetBIOS over TCP enabled on all the network adapters.
