Help getting rid of network
I tried installing a network between my T500 and a second home built pc having no experience of networks I tried using 2 etherlink cards and a connecting cable. I'm not sure if this was ever going to work but it didn't any way. I now want to remove all traces of the network from the two pc's espically the T500 and go back to my old log in screen and not the network one. Any help please. Thanks in advance.

In order to connect two network cards directly you need to use a special network cable, called a cross-over cable. You might want to try that in case you decide that you really do want a network. You don't say which version of Windows you have, but assuming it is not Windows XP, right click on My Network Places (Windows ME) or Network Neighborhood (Windows 98) and select Properties from the drop-down menu. Change the Primary Network Logon to Windows Logon and OK your way out. Reboot the computer. When it asks for a Username and Password, leave the password field empty and do not click on the Cancel button. The next time you boot, you will not be asked for a username and password. Note that you network will still work with this setting, it will just use the null password.
