Help to find SM Bus Controller Driver
I've just completed a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium. Had lots of problems with Network drivers - they had all disappeared. To cut a long story short, I was eventually able to get drivers in place that allowed me to connect to internet by cable & wifi, but found that there still seemed to be a couple of missing drivers, specifically: PCI Simple Communications Controller & SM Bus Controller. After doing a huge bunch of Win 7 updates, the PCI controller seems to have disappeared from the Other Devices list in Device Manager, but the SM Bus Controller is still shown as missing. I have a Dell Inspiron N5050.
Can anyone advise: Do I need the SM Bus Controller and, if so, where can I find the right driver for my machine?
Thanks in advance,
Charles

The SM Bus Controller is loaded by the chipset drivers. You can click the link below to download and install the chipset drivers into your computer. Once on the page choose your OS that is installed and then download the drivers needed.
