How to get my wireless card to work?

I have a Inspiron 2200 with an Internal 1370 WLAN mini-PCI card and I can't seem to get it to work.  I know there are wireless networks available to connect to, because my roommate is connected and I am not.  Anything you can do to help, I'd really appreciate!

You may have to enable the wireless card. It varies per model but typically it involves the blue funtion key and one of the "F" keys. Look around on the top of the keyboard and check for a picture of something that looks like a wireless icon.
 
If that doesnt work for you try:
 
Right Click on "My Computer"
Go to Properties.
Click the "Hardware" Tab
Click Device Manager.
Click the "+" Symbol next to Network Adapters (If it is a plus)
Right Click on the Wireless Card and go to Enable.
