I can't find printserver using 700m. No printer port either.

I have a HP Laser Jet 4000. I'm using a Linksys wireless router and have a Linksys WPS11 printer server. I was told to connect the printer server to my laptop and configure it that way first. BUt I don't have a printer port on the 700m or am I missing something.

So now how do I connect this print server that is connected to my printer?

Help! Need to print!

Thanks.

You could connect it directly to the printer with a crossover cable, but that would be difficult.

Connect the WPS11 to the router with an ethernet cable. Use the Linksys Bi-Admin program to locate and configure the print server.

I tried connecting the laptop directly to the Print Server via ethernet and my bi-admin software doesn't find it. I'm going to throw something out the window soon! :)

Any suggestions?

There is also the issue of IP addresses if you connect directly. If you are not connected to a DHCP server, but are set up to receive a DHCP address, your computer will default to a 169.x.x.x address. I don't know if the print server will do that. If you are not on the same subnet, the Bi-Admin program will not see the print server.

To do it directly from the computer to the print server, you will need a crossover cable. Easier to just connect to your router, let the print server get an IP address from your router, then find it with the Bi-Admin software.
