I need Some MAJOR help

I want to get my laptop(Inspirin E1705) hooked with some wireless internet. I already ahve a wireless card in it. I have a desktop comptor which i have hooked up to the router. Nopw here's where i'm lost wut do i do now....do i need another Ethernet cable to hook up to my router to my laptop or wut? Also on my laptop when i right click on the taskbar...the deal that says i have no wireless connection it says that windows is not running this program...another program is, and i have no clue wut other program could be running it.

You should have you cable mode connected to your modem. Your modem connected to your wireless router. Then you should click fn f2 to enable you network card. fn f2 turns it on and off.  First make sure you can connect to your router without any security settings then once you can you can go and set up security. What router and wireless network card do you have.  If you have a intel network card the intel proset is monitoring you network connection. It will have a icon in the system tray in the bottom right.

when u say press fn F2 how do i do hat first part....wut buttons do i press?

ok when i dot hat..it says: " We have detected that your PC has no connectio to the network, click on "Next Tip" to get addtional information on repairing you problem. You may click on Test Agian to re-test your connection to the Network."

My router is called a : Cable/DSL 4 port router by Network Everywhere Model NR041
My wireless card: Dell Wireless 1390 802.11G Mini Card (54Mbps), for inspiron 9400/E1705

Since your modem router is not a wireless router, there is not way you can connect to it by wireless.  You will need a wireless router.
