Identity theft website locks up when link is accessed
Dell inspiron 530 windows XP Pro sp3 IE 8
When I am on my Identity theft protection web site and click on a link to access, update edit information a gray transluscent curtain descends and freezes any access to dialog or entry boxes to effect interaction. I have to back button or refresh to get back to screen but eventually the back button is de-highlighted. Top part of screen tabs, toolbar, address bar etc are normal.
They are useless at their help line and after jumping through the elementary hoops they suggest I un and re-installed Internet Explorer8. Tried other PC's other Browsers and even a Mac. I got a blackout with the Mac. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Thanks for confirming it.This is a 3rd party software and it seems its a problem with the settings of internet explorer you are using to access this site.I would suggest you to try a different browser like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. If it workd fine in any one of these browsers ,please reset the internet explorer settings. Please follow the steps below:
1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer.
2. The Internet Options dialog box appears.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4.Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
5. Click to select the Delete personal settings check box if you also want to remove browsing history, home pages.
6. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close.
7. Restart Internet Explorer and check by browsing the web address.
Please reply with the results.
Thanks and Regards

Guess what? I got support (at long last) from the 3rd party and they suggested that in tools on my Browser page for Internet explorer 8 that I take down Compatability view. That does not make any sense to me but I got it to work.
Thanks for all your help. Can I do anything to recognize your help?

Hi,
I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. To assist you better would like to know which software you are using for Identity theft protection.
Also, if you can post a screenshot when it freezes and you are unable to use it.
Please reply.

I use Verizon Internet Security Suite which has McAfee for my Anti Virus. I dont know what you mean by Software for identity theft protection. I have a subscription to Trusted ID. It is only when working on thier website and signed in to my account that this happens. I cannot do a screen shot because the page where a box to enter date info thru a intra link on the site has my account info as a backdrop. That is displayed when the gray overlay drops down freezing the screen and not allowing input. So on my PC you can see a poryion of my information that I want to protect.. sorry
