IE graphic issues on Latitude d610

Hi - My boyfriend just got a Latitude D610 at work and when he uses Internet Explorer (6 or 7, we've tried both) graphics and graphical text is pixelated and blurry. When using Firefox, this doesn't happen - it's crystal clear. Is there something we are missing? An option that isn't configured correctly?

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks!

Is he allowed to install software and update?
I have downloaded, installed, run and like very much Internet Explorer version 7 Beta 2 (preview)
Also, in place of the "old" firefox I have downloaded, installed, run and like very much 'Bon Echo' (Firefox 2)

You're a genius. Thanks for sharing the solution. I gather solutions (looking for a problem) because of providing tech support on a campus (higher education).

HI!

Thanks for the reply... he is allowed to install actually. I had him update to IE 7Beta and no luck. I did some more research on it yesterday and foudn out that some latitudes and inspirons are set to the 160 DPI instead of the 96 DPI. By setting the monitor back to 96 DPI and then rebooting the machine, the problem was fixed!

Not too shabby!
