Inspiron 1100 wireless connection
I want to go wireless on an Inspiron 1100. What do I have to purchase? It is something that must be external? Also, what's the best way to let all businesses/personal correspondance know my email is being changed?
Thanks.

The Inspiron 1100 has no internal ("mini-PCI") slot for installing a wireless card, so you'll need to install an external PCMCIA card. The broader issue is what type of wireless connection you're interested in.
The commonest, and least expensive, wireless devices support so-called "Wi-Fi", which translates into the type of wireless networks supported by home wireless routers or access points attached to a cable or DSL modem, or to wireless "hotspots" provided by companies like Starbuck's, or in some cases by communities.
This educational site by Linksys should help you understand wireless and other home network options.
Truly mobile wireless access is available from companies that provide cellular modem service, and requires subscription, and a different type of wireless card. A GPRS cellular modem card is the most commonly available device for access to services such as these. Here's a review of Dell's GPRS offerings.
If you change your EMAIL address, you'd need to notify all your correspondents unless the service you're currently using supports forwarding. I'm not sure how that issue relates to your interest in purchasing a wireless device for your machine.

Thanks--- However, I think I only need the external PCM card. I'm subscribing to Verizon and I believe that they throw in the router.
How much I should I expect to pay for the card. I assume you can get it from CompUSA or Best Buy.
