Inspiron 15R SE - Wireless connection not working

Hey guys, hope you can help me with this.

So today i finally got my new Inspiron 15R SE laptop. It arrived on time and everything so that was good, but when i started up the computer and windows 8 was finished installing, I tried connecting to the internet. At first it was very slow and unresponsive but i diagnosed it and it worked fine for a couple of minutes. Then it cut out again and now will not connect at all over the wireless.

It has after a bit of fiddling, worked a couple of times for 5 minute intervals but other than that it just won't connect.

It connects to the internet when I plug it in via Ethernet cable and all other computers and laptops are connecting fine too. It is just the wi-fi that wont work.

I have attempted multiple diagnostics, each having different problems.

If you could help, it would be much appreciated, i'm currently using my desktop to write this btw :(

Hi CheesyMan,

It could be annoying when the wireless connectivity is intermittent. I suggest you to update the wireless card drivers and the system BIOS. To download the driver, please visit the following link and enter the system Service Tag in the “Yes” section and click on “Submit”:
http://dell.to/Qnizfs

On the next please, click on Network and download the driver for the wireless card listed and download the BIOS from the BIOS section. Please use the laptop within a distance of 30 feet from the router and check it is works fine.

Please let me know your findings.

Okay, so i tried downloading the driver and i installed one but that was for the bluetooth, so i downloaded the WiFi one and it came up with an error once it started to install:

"this application must be installed using the intel(r) proset/wireless installer"

So im thinking there must be something wrong with the driver, any way to fix this problem?

(Im using an ethernet cable now, which is working fine)

Hi CheesyMan,

Thank you for your reply. The Bluetooth and Wireless drivers are integrated in Inspiron 15R SE. I can provide the correct driver by verifying the system configuration using the Service Tag. I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name ‘DELL-Rajath N ’highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.

I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide the system’s Service Tag and contact details(including the name on the account) so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message. Please let me know if this helps.
