Inspiron 1720 Doesn't Recogbize That It's Connected to a Network
My Inspiron 1720 doesn't recognize that it's connected to a network even though it really is connected to my home network. I can access the Internet, print to a netwirk printer etc. What I can't do is share with other computers on my network.
I have tried suggestions from the MS forums but nothing seemed to work.
This PC is equipped with a Broadcom 440X10/100 Integrated Controller. I just recently noticed that I also have "Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2' software installed. When I execute this program it shows a RED X through the Controller. What does this mean? Dell chat support isn't much help. They tell me that I have a "high level software problem and need to pay to fix it. Even though this RED X is the only indication, somehow I think that the problem must be with the controller. I have updated the driver from Dell
