Inspiron 5160 trying to connect wireless modem

Having a problem w/ my Key????

 

I have tried to reinstall/change the key so that my wireless dsl will work.  All lights show an all go on the modem side of things.  I get stuck at Aquiring network address.  This is a brand new laptop by the way, and the DSL is working when I'm plugged in.  I've seen a few different errors, but no clue now.  Major prob from what I see is the PC wants a 40 bit and modem wants a 60 bit key.  Any ideas?
