INSPIRON E1505 WIRELESS CONNECTION ISSUES

i own two dell laptops...the inspiron E1505 and a lattitude D610

i live in an apartment and of course there are many wireless networks..however for some unknown reason, my inspiron cannot connect to my own dsl network...although it connects to other unsecured wireless networks in the apartment complex (obviously a weaker signal)..the lattitude has no problem connecting with my wireless dsl network..although i notice that ever time i get a phone call..the connection is interrupted

ive tried diabling firewalls and stuff like that..still cannot get the inspiron to connect..it recognizes the wireless connection and shows the network on its list of wireless connections..but i cant get it to connect..any thoughts on why the dsl  connects with the lattitude but not with the inspiron

When you said that it connects to other non-secure networks, it implied to me that yours was a secure network. If yours in also non-secure, then you can ignore that question unless you have other security features enabled like MAC address filtering or hidden SSID.

What about changing the channel?

Does the Inspiron connect if you temporarily disable the wireless security?  Does the telephone problem go away if you change the channel on the router to one of the extreme channels ( 1 or 11)?

Thanks, that would have helped a long time ago.  See the following post:

Lot's of problems between Dell wireless cards and Westell modems/routers have been cleared up by other users on these forums by upgrading the firmware on the router/modem.
