Inspiron w/ XP Home attached to a Win2003 Shared Printer

Don't know if this is a problem with my XP Home, Dell Inspiron, or what. I have an Inspiron with XP Home, and I can map and print to a shared printer that is hanging off of a Win2003 box. It doesn't want to retain logging in to the remote box, as once I reboot I cannot connect to the printer. I can remap it and re-logon to it, and print fine, as long as I don't reboot the laptop. Same for any drive mappings. I have a second laptop, which is a Toshiba w/ XP Professional, and it attaches fine. I'm only using workgroups, nothing fancy for authentication, just local authentication to the server. Is there something I have to turn on

Have you Checked the Reconnect at Logon box to make the drive mapping available on every login to your computer.

Sounds right, but where would I find the 'reconnect' box ? I know I've seen it when I map on my one laptop, but not with the Dell.

It should offer that option when you map the drive. I don't have XP home on any systems but I can't see why it would allow you to map a drive and not let you save it.
